Our headliner for the evening is Steve Bruner
Steve has delivered his laser-sharp humor on Comedy Club Network (Showtime), An Evening at the Improv (A&E), Into the Night (ABC), and The Byron Allen Show (NBC), to name a few.
Steve is one of the funniest guys on the high seas. He has entertained passengers from around the world on all the major cruise lines including Norwegian, Princess, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean. He had the honor of being the first entertainer to perform on Celebrity Edge.
He’s played The Comedy Store, The Improv, The Comedy & Magic Club, The Laugh Factory, The Punchline, Catch a Rising Star, The Ice House, and smaller venues across the U.S.
Steve has written material for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Byron Allen Show, The Sunday Comics, and Comic Strip Live. He also served as a writer/segment producer for Haywire, a sketch comedy show on Fox.
But, seriously…
While Steve has performed at many benefits for numerous causes, he focuses his financial support on a few favorite charities. The Innocence Project and Centurion are both non-profit organizations that work to exonerate and secure the release of prisoners who have been falsely convicted of crimes.
He also supports Kiva, an organization that connects people through lending to alleviate poverty. Steve has made 500+ microloans since 2007 and has recruited others to join his “Stand Up with Steve Bruner” Kiva team. Finally, Steve donates to both the American Cancer Society and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of his parents.
Our features for the evening are Steven Asifo and Nicole Tran.
Steven was recently described as “kinda funny” by San Francisco's mayor. Steven Asifo brings you on a trip where everything makes sense…from his perspective. With his charm and infectious energy, Steven has you laughing from start to finish, as he explores his anxiety-filled mishaps about marriage, adulthood, and weird facts of life. He regularly opens for Hannibal Burress, Roy Wood Jr., and other international touring acts.
When not waiting on his Amazon Prime packages, Steven works as a cybersecurity leader in a big Silicon Valley tech company where he translates tech jargon into something people actually want to hear.
Nicole Tran isn’t just a comedian — she’s a full-blown comedy experience.
With her fearless energy, unforgettable personality, and completely unpredictable stage presence, Nicole has become a standout favorite everywhere she performs. She’s taken the stage at some of the most iconic comedy venues in the country, including The Comedy Store, Punch Line San Francisco, Cobb’s Comedy Club, the Laugh Factory, Comedy Mothership in Austin, YouTube Theater in Inglewood, and the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
Nicole has also teamed up with comedy legend Pauly Shore, appearing on the Pauly Shore Podcast and becoming known as one of his hilarious sidekicks.
And if you’re a Kill Tony fan, you already know Nicole Tran. She earned one of the show’s coveted Golden Tickets and has racked up over a dozen** appearances**, making her one of the most recognizable and memorable recurring personalities to hit the Kill Tony stage.
Big venues. Legendary comedy clubs. Major podcasts. A Kill Tony Golden Ticket. And an energy that absolutely cannot be duplicated.
Nicole Tran is the kind of comedian audiences talk about long after the show is over — and once you’ve seen her live, you understand why.
The evening is Hosted by Bob Johnston with Woody Alex as your opening act.

ABOUT Contra Costa COMEDY
So far, in our first 10 years (>5 dozen shows) you have helped us bring in over $70,000 dollars for local charities.
Contra Costa Comedy is a live event producer that promotes live comedy, while benefiting charitable organizations. It is founded by comedian Bob Johnston. Bob's vision is to let laughter and giving flow where it is needed. You can follow Co Co Comedy for local events and daily laughs on Facebook at CoCoComedy
OUR MISSION
Produce Quality, Independent Comedy shows within the Contra Costa Area while supporting local charities, and promote other local comedy shows, showcases, and open mics.
Bob Johnston has been performing stand-up comedy around California and the Pacific Northwest for the last 27 years. He and his wife Vidah moved to Martinez in 2009. When he learned that Martinez had an outdoor amphitheater, the idea for Comedy Under the Stars was hatched as a way to allow the community to use the amphitheater while raising money for local charities.
