The Martinez Waterfront Amphitheater roared with laughter on September 30 for our second show of the 2017 season of Comedy Under the Stars. The Sept 30th raised $2400 benefiting the Volunteers of America Foster A Dream Program.

Our headliner on September 30th, Chicago Steve Barkley, has been making audiences laugh in comedy clubs, on cruise ships and for corporate clients for more than 40 years. With a high energy delivery punctuated with sound effects and an animated delivery style, Chicago Steve never fails to deliver big laughs while keeping his show corporate clean.
You may have seen him on HBO, A&E’s “Good Time Cafe”, “Comedy Express”, has appeared 5 times on the Showtime Comedy Club Network and was a featured performer in Michael Nesmith’s Grammy Award Winning video, “Elephant Parts”. Chicago Steve is also a $10,000 winner on ABC’s “America’s Funniest People”.

He’s appeared on numerous TV shows such as Evening at the Improv, Make Me Laugh and others and made his first appearance on Late Night with David Letterman in 1987. He appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman on July 25, 2008, setting the record for longest time in between appearances (over 20 years)

Our Host and Emcee for the evening is Greg Asdourian.
Greg is a native San Francisco Bay Area entertainer. Born in the heart of San Francisco and now residing in the East Bay, he has been performing his relatable, endearing, and self-deprecating, brand of comedy since the age of 17, all over the West Coast and Pacific Northwest. Greg hosts a Wednesday night show at Masse’s in Walnut Creek and was voted "One of the Comics We Love!" for 2013 by DIABLO Magazine! |
